MMD a chat with Chibi IA

Some of you may be familiar with my characterization of Chibi IA in the skits that I've written that featured her over the past year. She seems to have been fairly well received and it has always been my aim to eventually animate her in her "Miss Motor-mouth" guise. Well, finally I've got it done.

The clip is a little over a minute in length so gives a very good opportunity to not only see her character and personality; but hear her as well and it really does make a difference to see her fully animated. Technical Notes: Chibi IA's dialogue was created in MS Word from where it was feed into the built-in Text-To-Speech synthesizer. This was recorded directly into Audacity where the voice sample was converted into a form that sounds more like a chibi. The lip sync and facial expressions were then done using the MOGG software. The VMD file from that process was then loaded on to the Chibi IA model in MMD 7.39 and then the final animation sequences added.

Full transcript of dialogue used:
To get the Text-To-Speech synthesizer to pace the dialogue correctly, the dialogue has to be broken into separate paragraphs. I could have added some white space between phrases in Audacity, but this was the easier route and I wanted the voiceover to be an almost continuous tirade, since the character is suppose to be talking like this. As usual, YouTube seems to have messed up the clarity of the audio so it might be hard to hear exactly what she's saying, which is why I am publishing the script used. The original recording is very clear.


Hi!

I’m really happy to get a chance to talk with you today. In fact, just so you know, I’ve been waiting since last night to get this opportunity to talk with you.

Don’t you think this is exciting?

Sure you all know about me. You've read all about me and Miku’s adventures in Kerorin Town. Remember when we were hunting those really big nasty roaches?

And then later on I was reporting to you about the alien in Azure Town!

What you forgot about that?

My reporting isn't good enough for you then or are you really such a retard? Oh, my bad, I didn’t mean to call you a bad name.

Yes, really!

Trust me! I wouldn't lie to you now would I?

Note I’m cute and not my big sister, she’s just old, plus she’s got wrinkles too, just so you’ll know.
