One evening a couple of nights ago ...

Miku: Who's this Tesla person?
Me: You've been watching the Science Channel again haven't you?
Miku: May be ... so who was he?
Me: Nikola Tesla was an American inventor who did a lot of work with energy systems about 100 years ago. He's famous for his forward thinking ideas, many of which were decades before his time.
Miku: Such as?
Me: Well he proposed the idea of transmitting energy much like we broadcast radio signals today.
Miku: Hmmm ...
Me: ?
Miku: Well I have an idea!
Me: I'm sure you do ...
Miku: It's based on my latest science formula!
Me: And what might that be?
Miku: E = m * (leek)2, where m=me or rather 'Miku'.
Me: I see and ... ?
Miku: So can you make a stage with this formula?
Me: And how is that formula supposed to work again?
Miku: Well, since you're a total nerd ...
Me: I'm not a 'nerd'.
Miku: "Geek"?
Me: Not that either.
Miku: "Genius"?
Me: ... well OK, I can live with that.
Miku: So can you? My formula is all about energy as generated using leeks - as I'm totally eco-friendly. I'm into green power sources you know and saving polar bears!
Me: The polar bears are doing just fine ...
Miku: Can we get one? They look so cuddly and kawaii!
Me: No.
Miku: I promise to look after it; even take it for walks. I'll even buy it shades so that it'll look like the Coca Cola polar bear!
Me: Polar bears eat seals.
Miku: So ...
Me: So do great white sharks.
Miku: And?
Me: And great white sharks occasionally bite surfers by accident mistaking them for seals ...
Miku: I don't get it.
Me: Your costume is similar to what surfers wear.
Miku: Oh I get it! Sharks bite surfers because they think they look like seals and both sharks and polar bears eat seals and I look like a surfer so sharks and polar bears would eat Miku too! See I'm smarter than I look!
Me: Yes you are; so do you still want a polar bear?
Miku: Hmmm ... ding ding ... HELL NO! Miku does not want to be eaten by polar bears!
Me: There you go ...
Miku: But what about my formula for a stage?
Me: Well how does this look?
Miku: What you're done already?
Me: Yep ...
Miku: That was fast! So you're a genius after all!
Me: Well not really, I built this one as a doodle and just slapped your formula on it ...
Miku: So that makes me a genius after all!
Me: Yep, you're definitely the mad scientist type ...
Miku: So what's special about the stage? Oh I get it; that's diabolically clever!
Me: So can you explain it to everyone then?
Miku: YEP! So this is how it works, folks ... the stage floor is a virtual one, right?
Me: Yes.
Miku: So it's not really there as in it has no physical form.
Me: Correct.
Miku: So the rest of the stage is the power generator that creates the energy field that defines the dance floor.
Me: Right.
Miku: And this is all made possible because of Tesla's ideas and my formula! Well I think that's simple enough to understand. And the stage has lights - I like lights. And it supports VMDSpectrum data and it even jitters like a real stage that's generated with energy! Plus it's so easy to set up that even a baka like Neru could use it. It even comes with slider controlled configuration helpers. Also it's decorated using some really nice custom made textures.
Me: Yep, that sums it up nicely.
Miku: So we should celebrate with a leek hot pot!
Me: No ...
Miku: Party pooper!
