I've been looking for a chibi version of Gumi for awhile now. Can't let chibi IA and Tda Miku hog all the limelight now can we? As it turned out someone was asking some questions about one of my tutorials and this got me to locate and download a chibi conversion of Mamama's Gumi. However, there were some functional issues with that model, which after some clean up was usable but it was still too big to fit into the 'gang'. So, in the end I had to do a conversion myself and here she is next to the original.

This chibi version is:

- petite size (she's in the same height range as Kiyo's chibi IA and Tda's chibi Miku)
- cleaned up physics (chibis can be 'streamlined')
- revisited her bone structure
- anglicized her labels (for the most part as it's a pain trying to work with all Japanese labels)

She works great with all the motion data that I've tested on her.

Chibi Gumi's character traits: My thinking is that she's going to be a wise-cracking, smart-assed, wiz-kid with an interesting scientific bent (she's going to be a big fan of Richard C. Hoagland).

I like the body size, but the leg length is throwing me off a bit ^^;
The boots are real cute.

The legs are the same proportions as the original. It might be because I pulled the top of the boots down to make the booties and exposing more of the leg that's causing it to look different.

Btw, you may already know this, but the only editable and re-distribute-able model are mamama Gumi only, and she must stay as Gumi too. Other than that, none are editable or re-distribute-able from mamama model.

I'm not in the habit of *editing (and especially re-distributing) other modelers models, but I did make an exception here more or less for the reason you stated: "I've been searching for good chibi Gumi model everywhere, and no luck" (essentially I ran into the same problem).

So having made the conversion, I did think of sharing for the benefit of others who might want a chibi version of Mamama's superb Gumi. Other than that, this chibi is for all intents and purpose still Mamama's work. All I really did was leave her in the dryer for too long ...

* Actually, all the models I personally use on a regular basis have been edited functionally to make working with them easier (especially since I can't read Japanese). Some, like my version of Gate Opener Alice, have had more extensive cosmetic changes made, but my version remains absolutely private in keeping with the original makers terms.

sadly not in full. I do have some health issues that need to be attended to, but I'm unable to get them taken care of. Said health issues have caused me to get bullied as well.
