MMD Intermediary Vehicle Tutorial by Trackdancer MMD Intermediary Vehicle Tutorial by Trackdancer
This is a more advanced version of an earlier tutorial ([link]) that I created on animating a vehicle in MMD and was made because someone asked for a tutorial on how to animate a vehicle with wheels.

[1] Additional links to useful tutorials related to vehicles:
a. ........> Getting a model to ride a bike: [link]
b. ........> Getting a model to drive a car: [link]
[2] Credits are in the tutorial above.
[3] Download at top right includes a copy of this tutorial and a demo video showing the animation illustrated in the tutorial.

WARNING: This is not a tutorial intended for an absolute beginner. You should have at least a basic understanding of how to operate MMD before attempting to use this tutorial as it does not explain some of the more basic commands and operations.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ASK FOR MODEL LINKS

how do you make a bone on a model rotate the opposite way?
when i make the bone go half way, then to where i want it to be, it turns half way and then goes the opposite way to the end. ive fiddled with it forever and it just wont work. ive messed with the angles at the bottom left corner with no luck.
is there anyway to fix this?
thank you!

1/. Not all stage models are PMDs - that's stated in the tutorial text
2/. PMD models have the drawback that usually you can't have the shadow settings on.

So you actually move the town and not the vehicle all over the place... I had no idea. o.o

Coolness. ^.^

The concept is not new. It's actually centuries old. Essentially, Vocaloids are puppets and the town is merely background. With puppets, you move the stage (or rather background) to give the illusion of moving over distances. It's no different here using MMD.

Yeah, it really does sound very familiar, but seeing it told to me about MMD kinda just hit me with a "Oh! So that's how it's done right!!!" lol ^.^;

hey man i was experimentin before you made the torturial you didn,t mention the local global axel turning in MMD but i can see you have it on local which is the same setting i use or else the wheel goes annoying around

That's why its labelled an "INTERMEDIARY" tutorial as I was too lazy to explain some of the basics ...

Anyway here (crudely) is how GLOBAL and LOCAL work:

GLOBAL - the coordinates are fixed relative to the model's location in 3D space.
LOCAL - the coordinates are fixed relative to the model and independent of its location in 3D space.

You need to combine them using PMD.
