Description
Ok ... making more progress with my GLaDOS project. Now she has her brand new Portal 2 style Companion Cube. This cube is something else altogether ...
- it can be lit up quite nicely using Object Luminous or AutoLuminous.
- it functions as a stage/scenery management tool - it has a lot of specially tailored dummy bones.
- it serves as a container for an animated holographic "Experiment Analysis" screen that supports VMDSpectrum data.
- the Cube has physics so it can be "sat on" without GLaDOS' hair falling into it in an unrealistic manner.
GLaDOS' cores also received some upgrades ...
- they now light up using the lighting MME's noted above and they look awesome.
- their pupils also dilate to the beat of the music - they also support VMDSpectrum data. And since they can also be animated, this means that they can dance with GLaDOS and they're really easy to animate.
Still to do:
- some sort of simple stage set to tie everything together.
- still thinking of adding Wheatley. And if I do, he'll probably function as a lighting mechanism for the stage. The other idea was to use a turret instead, since these have guns, it'll be easy to rig one up to perform a laser light show.
GLaDOS - base by LAT
Software used: SketchUp 8, VMDSpectrum, PMD 0.1.3.8, Photoshop 7, MMD 7.94
MME - Object Luminous and Working Floor
GLaDOS & Companion Cube (C) Valve Corporation
