Plains of Gekido, 1 million BC.
Neru: That way is east, Baka.
Miku: Oh yeah, like how would you know that? Like no one has invented the compass yet.
Neru: The sun rises in that direction, Baka. Don't you know anything?
Miku: Like I would know that how? You know I don't get up that early.
Neru: Which is why it's your fault we're out here.
Miku: And who was it who was sleeping right next to me?
Neru: What are you insinuating?
Miku: "Oh Miku ... it's cold ... can I get under the bear skins with you?", was what you said if I remember ...
Neru: *BLUSH* You tell anyone that and I'll skewer you with this spear ... besides I was up before you.
Miku: Yeah, only because you had to go to do potty at some ungodly hour.
Neru: Well that's your fault too ... !
Miku: How so ... ?
Neru: *BLUSH* ... you were ... touching my bladder.
Miku: Oh so that's what that was, I thought they were your boobies, but now that I have a better look at you, it couldn't have been.
Neru: WHAT ARE YOU INSINUATING?
Miku: That I have bigger boobies than you ...
Neru: *Inspects herself and then inspects Miku* ... I don't think so.
Miku: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest*
Neru: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest*
Miku: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest even harder*
Neru: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest even harder*
Miku: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest even harder still and ends up coughing*
Neru: *Sticks her chest out and pounds on her chest even harder in triumph*
Miku: *cough cough*
Neru: I win!
Miku: *cough* How so?
Neru: *smuggly* More padding!
Neru: BLEH to you
Miku: BLEH and a double BLEH
Neru: You're drooling ...
Miku: So is he ...
Neru: So is who?
Miku: That sabre-tooth cat over there ...
Neru looks at where Miku is pointing. She sees a large sabre-tooth tiger stalking them through the tall grass. Both girls then decide to beat a hasty retreat up the nearest tree.
Plains of Gekido, 1 million BC, about half a day later.
Miku: You think it's safe to go down yet?
Neru: *Looks around carefully* Yeah I think so.
Miku: Well we can get our clothing back now.
Neru: Yeah it's getting cold ...
The two girls had thrown all their clothing down at the cat in a desperate attempt to deter it from climbing up the tree after them.
Miku: You know what?
Miku: I still think I have bigger boobs than you ...
Neru: Shut up about that already. We got bigger problems.
Miku: Like what?
Neru: Like we're suppose to be hunting out here, Baka.
Miku: Hunt what? There's nothing here to hunt. I told you we should have gone west.
Neru: Says the person that then headed east.
Miku: Minor technicality, don't fuss the details. Besides, you followed me.
Neru: Like I had a choice there, right?
Miku: So what are we going to do?
Neru: Well it's nearly dark and we're too far from the village to make it back by nightfall.
Miku: What are we going to do then?
Neru: Find a bigger tree to sleep in for the night.
Miku: That sounds like too much work.
Neru: Yeah, let's just stay in this one then for the night. But before that, let's pick up some rocks.
Miku: Good idea ...
So they spend a somewhat uncomfortable night in the tree, but with a decent supply of rocks to throw down at the saber-tooth tiger that returned later still hoping to snare one of the girls for its dinner.
Plains of Gekido, 1 million BC, the next morning.
Miku: Is he still down there?
Miku: That's annoying. I'm hungry and we're out of rocks.
Neru: That cat is really beginning to piss me off.
Miku: Persistent bugger isn't it.
Neru: May be we should have started a fire.
Miku: Well too late for that now. Any ideas?
Neru: *Thinks for a moment then has an evil look* Yeah I do ...
She shoves Miku off the branch of the tree. She falls screaming and lands on top of the saber-tooth cat, breaking it's neck in the process when she landed.
Miku: HEY THAT HURT!
Neru: Quit complaining; problem solved ...
She then pulls out a flint skinning knife and proceeds to skin the cat. Miku starts a fire and they cook some of the cat to eat for breakfast. It was tough meat, but both girls were hungry so they didn't complain.
Neru rolled up the sabre-tooth tiger's pelt and the two girls proceeded with their journey. This time heading west. It wasn't long before they found large herds of antelopes, deer and buffalo near the river. But instead of hunting, they headed for the river to bathe.
Miku: Well, this is like a supermarket!
Neru: What's a supermarket?
Miku: I have no idea.
Neru: More importantly, what are we going to take back to the village as meat?
Miku: I suggest we kill the biggest thing that we can so we can get the rest of the month off.
Neru: Well then, it's got to be a deer.
The deers at this time were huge. Specifically, they were Megaloceros which measure in at around 2 meters at the withers (shoulder blades).
Miku: So which one should we get?
Neru: Let's find one that's either young, injured or old. Those would be easier.
Miku: Sounds good to me. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe ... that one then. *She pointed at the alpha male of the herd*
Neru: *Gives Miku a really dirty look*
Miku: What? You chicken or something?
Neru: That's the biggest one in the herd, Baka.
Miku: Now that you pointed it out, you're right. Well look at it this way, MOAR MEAT!
Neru: And how are we going to kill that thing with these? *Pointing at their spears*
Miku: Oh don't worry, we'll think of something ...
An hour later the two girls were nursing sore rumps by the banks of the river having essentially been tossed there by the enraged Megaloceres.
Miku: That didn't go down too well did it?
Neru: No it didn't ...
Miku: So what do we do now?
Neru: Well we better think of something. But let's eat first.
Miku: So what's for lunch?
Neru: Leftovers ... *that being of course some of the meat from the sabre-tooth tiger that they killed earlier and took with them*
After lunch ...
Miku: So what do we do now? We can't go back to the village empty handed.
Neru: Yeah, Meiko will kill us if we went back without some meat. May be the antelopes?
The rest of the afternoon's hunt did not go well either. Partly due to the scent from the sabre-tooth tiger's pelt that Neru was carrying, the antelopes kept their distance. The buffalos charged them. The crocodiles in the river tried to eat them. The baboons threw nuts, rocks and feces at them and a wooly rhino chased them both up a tree. So they both spent another uncomfortable night up a tree.
Miku: What do we do now?
Neru: *munching on the sabre-tooth tiger meat* May be we should try our luck up north tomorrow.
Miku: But it'll be cold up there as the glacier is there.
Neru: Well we have this *points at the sabre-tooth tiger's pelt* to keep us warm.
Miku: OK, we'll worry about it tomorrow. Good night.
Neru: Good night.
Half an hour later ...
Miku: You awake?
Neru: *sleeply* Yeah, now I am. What is it?
Miku: Can I sleep with you, it's cold and you have that pelt.
Neru: Yeah sure ... just don't touch me in funny places.
Miku: You mean like here?
Neru: Go to sleep!
And so they cuddled up for warmth under the pelt and fell asleep.
Plains of Gekido, 1 million BC, the next morning.
Neru: *sleepily* What are you touching!
Miku: *waking up* Huh? What's going on?
Neru: Would you cut that out Miku, that's disgusting!
Miku: I'm not doing anything; look my hands are here!
Neru: Well if it's not you ...
They look down to see an Indricotherium (a large horse like mammal which was the largest mammal to have ever lived) licking Neru's rump. It wasn't actually interested in Neru, it was just feeding on the leaves in the branches of the tree where they were sleeping.
Miku: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Neru: *Nodding* For once, yeah ...
So having advantage of the "high ground", the two cave girls slew the Indricotherium. Leaving Miku to guard their kill, Neru went back to the village (since Miku had no sense of direction) to get help to recover the meat. When they returned, Miku had added three Pachycrocutas (prehistoric hyenas) to the kill count when these came to fight over the girl's kill.
Miku: Well about time you got back Neru.
Neru: Well, it was some distance away.
Sub-Chief Meiko: *inspecting their kill* Not bad, not bad at all ... for once.
Miku: There's a lot of meat and skins here.
Neru: We should be able to get some time off right?
Sub-Chief Meiko: What, are you kidding? This is the height of the hunting season. And since you two seem to be so good at this, I'm going to send you both out for MOAR MEAT!!!
And so the two cave girl huntresses decided to head south to the beach; to hunt seals as they would explain to Sub-Chief Meiko later. Obviously, they were not too successful this time ...
